Refund Policy

SpanishTax AI follows EU consumer protection law (Directive 2011/83/EU, transposed in Spain by Real Decreto Legislativo 1/2007 — Texto Refundido Ley General para la Defensa de Consumidores y Usuarios). This policy explains your refund rights and how to exercise them.
1. 14-day right of withdrawal (consumers in the EU)
If you are a consumer (not a business) and resident in the EU, you have the right to withdraw from any purchase within 14 calendar days of the purchase date, without giving any reason. You will receive a full refund.
Important exception for digital content (Article 16.m Directive 2011/83/EU): Once you have actively used a digital service or received a delivered output (e.g., the Pro Audit review report has been emailed to you), you may waive the 14-day withdrawal right. We will not exercise this exception silently — see Section 3 below for specifics by plan.
2. How to request a refund
To request a refund within the 14-day window:
- Email billing@spanishtaxai.com from the email address associated with your purchase
- Include your Stripe receipt number or transaction date
- Briefly state you wish to withdraw (no detailed reason required)
We will process the refund within 14 days of receiving your request, using the same payment method you used for purchase. Stripe processing can take an additional 5-10 business days to appear on your statement.
3. Refund eligibility by plan
DNV Application Pack (€199 one-time)
- Full refund if requested within 14 days AND you have NOT downloaded any document templates, used more than 10 chatbot messages, or accessed personalized roadmap content.
- Partial refund (50%) if you've started using the Pack but request within 14 days.
- No refund after 14 days, or if you've fully used the Pack (downloaded all templates, completed roadmap, etc.).
DNV Pro Audit (€499 one-time)
- Full refund if requested before Oscar begins the audit (we'll confirm by email when work starts).
- Partial refund (50%) if requested after audit work has started but before delivery.
- No refund once the audit report has been delivered to you by email, since the service is fully consumed.
Spanish Resident Pro / Premium Concierge (recurring monthly)
- First month full refund if requested within 14 days of initial signup.
- Cancel anytime via your dashboard or by emailing billing@spanishtaxai.com. Cancellation stops future renewals.
- No prorated refund for partial months — your access continues until the end of the paid period.
- Founding rate (€14.50 / €49.50) is honored as long as your subscription stays active and uninterrupted. If you cancel and re-subscribe later, standard rates apply.
4. Non-refundable situations
- Refund requests made more than 14 days after purchase (except for documented Service defects)
- Charges resulting from your violation of Terms & Conditions
- Refund requests due to dissatisfaction with the outcome of your DNV application (we provide information and review services, not guaranteed approval — see Terms §12)
- Currency conversion fees imposed by your bank or card issuer
5. Disputes and chargebacks
Before initiating a chargeback through your bank or card issuer, please contact us at billing@spanishtaxai.com. We resolve most issues quickly without needing a formal dispute.
Unjustified chargebacks may result in:
- Immediate suspension of your account and access to all paid features
- Recovery of Stripe chargeback fees (typically €15-25) from you
- Reporting to fraud-prevention services if abuse is detected
6. EU Online Dispute Resolution
If we cannot resolve a refund dispute amicably, EU consumers may use the European Commission's Online Dispute Resolution platform to seek a neutral resolution.
