This page explains the cookies and similar technologies used on spanishtaxai.com and how you can control them. It complements our Privacy Policy.
1. What are cookies?
Cookies are small text files stored in your browser when you visit a website. They allow the site to remember
your preferences and actions (login state, language, shopping cart contents, etc.) across visits.
Similar technologies — localStorage, sessionStorage, and pixel tags — work similarly.
2. Cookie categories we use
We classify cookies into 3 categories per AEPD guidance:
Strictly necessary cookies (always active)
These are required for the Service to function. They cannot be disabled. They do not require your consent under EU law.

Analytics cookies (require consent)
Help us understand how visitors use the Service so we can improve it. Disabled by default until you opt in.

Note: Cloudflare Web Analytics is designed to be cookieless and privacy-friendly. We list it here for transparency even though it does not place identifying cookies.
Marketing cookies (not currently used)
We do not currently use marketing or advertising cookies (no Google Ads, Facebook Pixel, retargeting pixels, etc.). If this changes, this policy will be updated and you will be asked for renewed consent.
3. How we obtain your consent
When you first visit the Service, a cookie banner appears at the bottom of the page asking for your consent. You have three choices:
- Accept all — enables analytics cookies in addition to necessary ones
- Necessary only — only strictly necessary cookies will be set
- Manage preferences — granular control by category
Your choice is stored in stx_cookie_consent for 12 months. After 12 months, we re-request consent
per AEPD recommendation.
4. How to change your preferences
You can change your cookie preferences at any time:
- Click the "Cookie settings" link in the footer of any page
- Clear your browser cookies (this resets the banner and your preferences)
- Use your browser's cookie settings to block or delete specific cookies

Note: blocking all cookies will impair core Service functionality (chatbot will not persist conversations, you may need to log in repeatedly, etc.).
5. Updates to this policy
We update this Cookie Policy when we change our cookie use. Material changes will be notified via the cookie banner on your next visit, requesting renewed consent.
